At Marel, we believe that investing in young people is one of the most important investments in a sustainable future. We believe that quality education is built on a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, as working in a real business environment enables students to develop professional competencies, strong work habits, responsibility, discipline, and an understanding of modern manufacturing processes.
Guided by this vision, in 2025 we joined Serbia's dual education system and established a partnership with the First Technical High School in Krusevac. Our goal is to provide students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real working environment while benefiting from the continuous support and mentorship of our experienced professionals.
During the first year of the program, a total of 26 students completed their practical training at Marel, including 13 second-year students enrolled in the Metal Fabrication program and 13 fourth-year students enrolled in the Machining Operations program.
Through a carefully structured practical training program, students gained valuable insight into our manufacturing processes and acquired hands-on experience in the welding, pressing, machining, and toolmaking departments. In addition to developing technical knowledge and practical skills, they strengthened their understanding of teamwork, adherence to procedures, occupational health and safety standards, and the importance of a responsible and professional approach to work.
We believe that dual education is one of the most effective ways to prepare young people for future professional challenges. By strengthening the connection between education and industry, we contribute to the development of a skilled and competent workforce, support the growth of the local community, and help build a sustainable future in which young people can take their first professional steps in a modern manufacturing environment.
